AVER had the opportunity to take part in the “EVS Global” project, which involved 20 youth workers, EVS coordinators and EVS supervisors from 10 countries spending five days (15–20 May 2017) in Bansko, Bulgaria. All were NGO representatives highly involved in the activities of the sending organisations from Bulgaria, Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Spain, Jordan, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria.
These young people from many different countries and backgrounds shared one main aim: to establish contacts between organisations in Europe and the Euro-Mediterranean region working in the EVS field, and to support youth workers and EVS coordinators in developing their skills, knowledge and field competence, leading to high-quality EVS projects on a global scale. Throughout the project, all partner organisations exchanged experiences and good practices to help create quality, effective projects and develop youth work at European level. AVER was represented by two delegates, for one of whom it was a first international experience. Ali Sahnoun says: “First flight, first EVS seminar, first time in Bansko – it could not have been a more exciting experience than the ‘EVS Global’ seminar! A very fast five days full of activities and useful information; I learned a great deal about the EVS field and enjoyed the intercultural evening, especially the Bulgarian one. Thank you, Alternativi International, for this opportunity.” The project is funded by the Erasmus+ programme.
