The European Solidarity Corps

The European Solidarity Corps (ESC) lets young people aged 17 to 30 volunteer or work on a project, at home or abroad.

As with its predecessor, the European Voluntary Service, ESC project activities are wide-ranging: helping asylum seekers, tackling early school-leaving, supporting people with disabilities, children or the elderly, protecting the environment and forests, defending human rights, or promoting equal opportunity in sport.

ESC projects last from two to twelve months and take place in European Union member states. For a volunteering project, travel, accommodation, meals, local transport, language courses, insurance and pocket money are all covered.
