AVER Newsletter No. 1

,

This is the first in a monthly series of newsletters – a summary of March, a month full of activities across the various projects of Association La Voix de l’Enfant Rural.

As part of the project “Cyber-harassment: monitor, protect, act”, a workshop was held on the forms of online harassment and how to guard against it, for pupils of Ibn Maja, Errajaa, the Pilot Institute of Médenine, Route de Gabès and El Mongi Slim schools on 1, 2, 4 and 7 March 2023, and for students of the Higher Institute of Human Sciences of Médenine on 8–9 March 2023. Two awareness-raising workshops were also held for parents on 11–12 March. The project is run in partnership with the Regional Education Directorate of Médenine and the Higher Institute of Human Sciences, with support from the German federal government, over 11 months (February–December 2023).

Under the “GirlPower” project, the association launched an e-learning platform for youth workers and people committed to gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls in their communities. Its content is available in four languages – English, Arabic, Italian and Spanish – covering personal development, entrepreneurship, active participation and our training course.

As every year, the association distributed 32 food parcels with essential supplies to low-income families. The campaign began on 25 February and is still ongoing as our volunteers work to gather support and reach as many families as possible.

The association is also preparing to launch its new project “A Step Forward… Eyes on the Future”, part of the “Fâ3il.a” programme, with a large set of training courses for the youth of the Médenine region. “Fâ3il.a – Youth policies and youth participation in public policy in Tunisia” is implemented by the International Centre for Local Development and Good Governance, funded by the European Union with support from the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
