Label’zik is an artistic project that offers 18 young people aged between 15 and 30 an opportunity to build bridges between their bodies, their minds and their emotions. Through pedagogical support that creates an environment conducive to the birth and development of artistic projects, two workshops – one in scenic-space techniques and the other in learning five dance styles (Salsa, Zumba, Hip-Hop, Break-Dance, Indian) – offer the candidates a cultural diversity they express artistically on the main stage of the first dance festival, a first step towards positive cultural change in Médenine.
Dance is a poem in which every movement is a word… see further still. From 19 to 22 October, our candidates held their first dance workshop (Hip-Hop, Zumba) at the Médenine youth complex, then continued on 5–6 November with Salsa, a shift to another culture; on 12–13 November they had the chance to visit India through their dancing bodies; and on 19–20 November the workshop closed with Break-Dance, which took us back to 1970s America. The countdown begins towards the big show: the ambitious “Label’zik festival” will soon open its doors, carrying the hope of our young artists who aspire to conquer cities, public spaces and streets through art. “The one who does not dance is cut off from reality.” #Nietzsche
