“Ciné-Jina” grew from the idea of launching a first cinema initiative designed and performed by migrants themselves, focusing on the rights of those concerned, in a specific context such as Médenine. The project was born from observing a situation of exclusion experienced by migrants in Médenine for various reasons – linguistic, cultural and legal.
Hence the idea of contributing to their inclusion through art and storytelling, in cooperation with local young people who share their passion for filmmaking. Through audiovisual activities, these young people develop a critical eye and adapt their perceptions to the realities migrants live. By being involved on the front line, they become spokespeople for the defence of migrants’ rights, working to raise their voices in unison with the migrants themselves. The project targets the Médenine South and Médenine North delegations and migrants settled in Médenine.
